Each year, this Norwegian hymn is sung at the Easter Sunday meeting during BCC’s conference. With solemn reflection we remember Jesus’ work of salvation and resurrection on the third day. This has been an Easter Conference tradition for as long as most of us can remember, and this year was the first time since World War II that we could not meet the way we usually do.

It was a moving experience to sing this well-known Norwegian Easter hymn from home along with thousands of other believers who were part of the virtual TV broadcast this morning.

A virtual Easter conference that connects thousands

BCC has gone online this spring, giving its members an alternative way of meeting. Online streaming allows for a great deal of interaction and spiritual messages, singing and music can be shared from all corners of the globe. The large conference hall that is usually the center of the Easter conference is now transformed to a large TV studio where spiritual messages are sent throughout Easter weekend, in addition to online activities for both children and young people.

The exact number of the people who have watched these broadcasts is unknown, but it is certainly many more than the 10,000 who had originally registered for the conference. It is estimated there was between 11,000 and 15,000 viewers from all over the world.
