Many members purchased an agreement over 20 years ago and have already extended it for a new period. Others started using their agreement when the latest hotel buildings were completed as recently as 2021.
To continue the opportunity for all members attending BCC conferences to have overnight accommodations, they have come together to establish the consumer cooperative Samvirk. All accommodation capacity during the conferences is now coordinated through Samvirk, and those who do not already have an agreement will have the opportunity to obtain one.
News that involves the audience
During The Magazine, the information session at the Pentecost conference, exciting news about the international conference organized by BCC was revealed. The audience was thrilled and reacted spontaneously to the presentation of the conference calendar with cheers, applause, and some quiet chatter in the rows of seats during some of the proposals. On one hand, the conference program for the coming years will be adjusted to accommodate more members attending the conferences. On the other hand, the cooperative enterprise that sells accommodations is now open to allowing more people to purchase agreements.
– From our side, it requires good coordination. But it also opens up the possibility to sell more point agreements so that everyone who wants to attend the conferences has the opportunity to do so, says Robin Fuglset, CEO of Samvirk, and continues:
– This is a milestone for us because it has not been possible to purchase point agreements for accommodations since 2012. Many people have indicated that they are waiting for this.
It will be possible to purchase point agreements this summer
BCC Event will present the conference calendar for 2024 this summer. Samvirk will offer point agreements to those who wish to purchase them. This means that all those who are regular users of the accommodation options at BCC conferences are co-owners of the cooperative enterprise and share the costs for it.
As we have previously reported, the youth have already been taking action for several months. It’s about getting ahead so they can purchase accommodation agreements when they become adults. The response has been overwhelming.
– The fact that we now have to adjust the conference calendar to accommodate all members who want to participate in the conferences is actually good news. Peter Tischhauser, CEO of BCC Event, says.
– Many people will save on travel expenses as we move some of the conferences around. I have already received positive feedback that this can be a very good solution, Tischhauser continues.
Various scenarios are being worked on, as the New Year’s, Easter, and Pentecost conferences in the past year have been quite overcrowded. The details of the conference calendar for next year will not be clear until the summer.

- Established by and for members of BCC who participate in BCC’s events at Oslofjord, and who wish to privately invest in accommodation agreements.
- A consumer cooperative that purchases all available hotel accommodations from Oslofjord during BCC’s events and resells them to its members.
- Aims to promote the interests of its co-owners in relation to their participation in BCC’s events at Oslofjord. This is achieved by facilitating smart utilization of Oslofjord and utilizing the location to its fullest potential for current and future generations.

- An ideal and nonprofit foundation in Norway, and a part of the BCC federation.
- Aims to convey the Christian faith and teachings by planning and organizing regional, national, and international events for Christian churches and organizations at the Oslofjord Convention Center in Sandefjord, Norway.
