A vibrant church

The preaching of the Bible’s message and the teachings of Jesus lie as a secure foundation, which is why BCC is a vibrant church for generation after generation. BCC can be described as traditional, but innovative.

Many have gained a good life through the gospel, both spiritually, socially, and in family life. In a community where many live as disciples of Jesus, there is bound to be unity.

This is particularly due to the preaching we gather around locally and at Brunstad. For over 100 years, the church has come together for conferences on sanctification. Fellowship and preaching create unity across borders, languages and cultures.

At the conferences, over 60% of the participants are under the age of 30. (2024)

Children and youth are prioritized

Youth work has flourished, especially in recent decades, and a good structure has made it possible for thousands of mentors to engage week by week in faith education and activities. The activities offered in the local churches are adapted to age and interest, and the aim is to give children and young people good experiences and friendships they can continue to enjoy later in life..

Three times a year, Brunstad Youth Club (BUK) gathers for camps with activities and faith-building. It is an important arena for teaching and discipleship, and friendships are made for life.

Testimony meetings

The most common form of meeting is testimony (witness) meetings. At the start of the meeting, there are one or more keynote messages (sermons), and many people participate in edification in various ways. This is inspired by Paul’s words to the Corinthians:

What do I mean, siblings? “How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. But let everything serve to build up.” (1 Cor. 14, 26)

The church does not have paid preachers and there are usually no scheduled speaking lists in the meetings.
