Resolutions adopted by the Assembly of Representatives last weekend

On Saturday, the Assembly of Representatives Meeting brought together about 350 people from the church's leadership in 21 countries. A new period is now beginning in which important decisions must be made, and 50 new representatives are helping to shape those decisions through their work on committees.

In total, 50 of the 192 representatives are new, while most have been re-elected.

“I look forward to contributing my experience and expertise,” says Solfrid Brentnall, the new representative from the local church in Oslo Follo.

She has nearly 40 years of experience as an accountant and will join the Finance Committee.

“It will be exciting to be involved and provide input on the long-term financial plan for the next five years. I also look forward to working closely with the rest of the Committee, and I hope that together we can find good solutions that are in the best interest of us all.”

How financial decisions are made

The Assembly of Representatives was briefed on the strategic processes currently underway leading up to the adoption of the long-term financial plan for 2027–2031 this fall. According to the schedule, the committees will have one month to review the plans during the consultation round before the case documents are sent to the Assembly of Representatives and the leadership of the local churches.

A fundamental principle in the BCC Federationis that financial decisions are made by the members—not only at the federation level but also at the local level.

This was adopted

The BCC Federation adopted the following resolutions at its Assembly of Representatives Meeting on June 13, 2026:

  • The 2025 financial statements and annual report were approved
  • The deadline for implementing model provisions for membership in local churches has been extended by one year to June 2027
  • MakeMusic was admitted as an associate organization in the BCC Federation
  • Representatives from outside Norway and the Netherlands were elected. For countries or churches that are not yet part of the Federation, the Assembly of Representatives elects the representatives. Norwegian and Dutch churches have been admitted to the Federation and therefore elect their own representatives at their local Annual General Meetings.
  • New members were elected to the board and other positions based on the nominations of the Nomination Committee

In addition, BCC Music and BCC A-team made minor changes to their bylaws to align their wording with that of other organizations in the Federation.
