Naturally, there is a difference in how often different members wish to or have the opportunity to physically attend conferences. When you are not able to or do not wish to participate physically, you can participate online, and the cost of streaming is also covered by the donation model.
In order to register for a conference, you must have accommodation on site
BCC Event’s conferences take place over several days with participants from all over the world, and the program is designed in such a way that all participants also stay on site. Limiting traffic in and out of the venue during the conference also contributes to enhanced security and limits the amount of resources needed for accreditation and monitoring. Registration for the conference is therefore initially only open to those who are registered with accommodation on site, either with their own reservation or as a guest. However, BCC Event also has a day pass program for visitors, the elderly, and people who need this for health reasons.
Those who need assistance get assistance
At the church’s conferences, all children and young people, as well as the elderly over the age of 70, can stay with friends and family without paying for accommodation. Adults between the ages of 26 and 70 who wish to physically participate in conferences at Oslofjord organized by BCC Event must in principle pay for accommodation at the hotel. The reason for this is that it is natural that those who use Brunstad also pay for it, something we consider both reasonable and fair. That is why members have joined forces and established a cooperative, thereby gaining a strong customer voice in Oslofjord. It is the cooperative that determines the guidelines concerning the groups having to pay for accommodation and those who can be a guest without paying.
There may nevertheless be situations or periods in life where people may need support. This is why Samvirk adapts its products and offers several different options, and BCC has established good support programs to ensure a solidary and fair solution.
A local support program
There will be a separate support program in each local church for members who are financially disadvantaged. In certain cases, it is the local church that can provide support to cover accommodation at conferences. Anyone who needs to apply for this should contact their local church elder. If a member does not receive assistance locally, it is also possible to contact the Elders centrally for possible support from the BCC Federation.
The support program for low-income countries will continue
The church has always had a support program for participants from low-income countries, primarily outside Western Europe and North America. This program is ongoing, and people in this group are given the opportunity to get discounted prices in Samvirk when needed, so that the cost is adapted to their income level, and the BCC Federation covers the cost of the discount as missions support.
