Bjørn Nilsen was just 12 years old when the church held its first meetings at Brunstad in 1956. Ever since then, it has been close to his heart to help ensure that new generations of children and young people would be able to experience coming together for conferences there. Not only to hear the preaching and meet friends from all over the world, but also to be able to develop in a free and good environment with playgrounds, swimming opportunities and a sports arena.
After several years as elder of the local church in Grenland, he has now passed the baton on to younger forces. But as a member of the Elders of the BCC Federation, he is still active.
And even at the age of 80, he is a speaker known for his simple and practical way of expressing himself about Christian life, which is appreciated by young and old alike. His lively interest in biblical history and great enthusiasm for the proclamation of a new life on the cross and in following Jesus creates enthusiasm, hope and faith.
The local church in Grenland will have an anniversary celebration this weekend.
