Summer is here, and these days many parents are juggling between the final weeks of work and taking care of children who are already on summer break. It’s not unlikely that children will spend a few hours in front of screens – and now BCC Media offers a dedicated app for children where they can engage with meaningful content.
A long-awaited offering for children
A children’s app has been a desired solution for parents who want to provide a safe alternative to YouTube and other platforms. Johannes Schmechel, the leader of BCC Media, is delighted to finally make it a reality.
“We know that many parents have been waiting for this,” says Johannes enthusiastically. “We have long wanted to offer a platform specifically designed for children, with content, games, and features.”
The app is currently in an early stage, and the development team will gather feedback from users to further improve and cater to the target audience.
“We have already recorded 2000 downloads of the app,” says product manager Priscilla Mulunda, who is excited to further develop the app with new features specifically tailored for children.
100,000 subscribers on YouTube
Although BCC Media focuses on developing their own platforms, they are also present on YouTube. Last week, Bible Kids reached 100,000 subscribers and over 10 million views.
“It’s a significant milestone,” says marketing manager Kjetil Sundmark Johnsen. “It means that we have reached many children worldwide, and now we are very excited to strengthen our offering with a dedicated ad-free platform for children.”
Free, ad-free alternative to YouTube
The Bible Kids app can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play and does not require any login. It already features over 50 animated films of well-known and beloved Bible stories. Many volunteer translators have contributed to making the app available in up to 15 languages, so that as many children as possible can enjoy the content.
