BCC takes a Christmas break

In the past year, however, we have used many resources in counteracting a lot of distorted information that abounds about our faith community. These are resources we would rather have used in our Christian work.

A lot of exciting things are happening in BCC at the moment, and we are looking ahead to 2021 with great expectations. BCC is constantly evolving in many areas, and we thank the members for all their efforts in the year that will soon be over. Among other things, we look forward to using this energy to continue developing our faith community internationally as an association model. More information about this will follow in the coming year.

In the past year, however, we have used many resources in counteracting a lot of distorted information that abounds about our faith community, and getting all the facts in the open. These are resources we would rather have used in our Christian work.

A lot of media attention

This autumn, NRK Brennpunkt’s documentary about BCC has also put its mark on the news in Norway and postings on our own website. It has been important for us to keep members and the outside world continuously informed about our experience of the process, which is why we created a theme page for updates throughout this period. Now that we are entering the Christmas holidays and these themes are no longer as relevant, we will be removing the theme page from our website. Many of the articles can still be read in the article archive, and we will of course still update our readers with relevant information.

Much work remains to uncover the facts

Being exposed to an influence operation has been demanding. We have come a long way in finding out what has happened, but much remains to be done. We had hoped that it was in the interest of both the media and the authorities to obtain facts in the case. However, we experienced that it is difficult to get others to understand the complexity and the challenges such an operation entails.

On the other hand, we are constantly receiving new information about the Psy-Group case, and some of this information is disputed. This applies in particular to documentation about when Psy-Group’s involvement with BCC started. We choose not to present all the documentation we have at the moment, and until further notice to unpublish the mini-documentary “Perception for sale,” as well as some of our content dealing with this, while next year we will continue to work on uncovering the actual circumstances. We will also keep working to find out what the background, purpose and consequences of the influence operation were, and find more information on the question of when Psy-Group’s involvement began.

Hope for the new year

Despite the coronavirus pandemic turning the world upside down, our members have been coming together via “BCC Online” since March. This has contributed to the strengthening of fellowship and unity, and at the same time we have taken great strides in development, both in terms of production technology and new technical solutions this year.

We look forward to keep using this, although of course we hope that it will soon be possible to meet in person again. There are many people who miss gatherings and conferences where we can be together; we hope that will be possible during 2021.

We wish all our readers a very good and blessed Christmas holiday.
