Approximately 270 African youth from nine different African countries participated: Cameroon, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and South Africa. The Camp lasted four days, and created strong relationships that extend beyond borders.
An active association of faith for young people
Camp Africa is not just about Christian meetings, but is a setting where youth from many countries can be together and experience a genuine community of faith. The participants join together in communal tasks and team-building exercises, play in tournaments on different athletic teams, sing, pray, and listen to good advice from adults and youth workers.
By participating in the camp, the young people also learn how to create activities for younger children and youth in their own countries. As they participate in climbing, sports, baking, hobbies, arts and crafts, motorsports or music, they receive inspiration to promote positive activities in a Christian atmosphere.
The concept is that young people, who have become disciples, can develop an assortment of activites in their local churches around Africa. As a result, many return home as good role-models and examples for the many children and youth back home, showing how to live a healthy Christian life.
