When the Great Commission becomes personal

The fall missions collection lasted for four weeks and more than 10,000 people have contributed. The target for the collection was reached after just one week.

“After all, I personally found happiness through the gospel, so I had a living faith that all other people could become happy too,” said Kåre J. Smith on the podcast when the missions collection was launched. For over 60 years, he has worked tirelessly to share the gospel with people all over the world.

The fact that many have missions as a matter of the heart, became very clear as the target was already met only a week after it was launched. The total result was an incredible NOK 46.7 million.

“Here we get a glimpse of the power in the unity of faith, when individuals have given Jesus power in their lives and taken His Great Commission to heart,” said Kjell in the Magazine during the brothers’ conference at Brunstad. He led the fundraising drive this time.

Duels, and celebrations afterwards

The fundraiser sparked enthusiasm all over the world. Local churches challenged each other in duels and competed in a friendly manner. Some of the churches that challenged each other will now be meeting to celebrate together.

“We were challenged by Cameroon, and they had reached their target before we had even woken up,” said Peter from Ottawa in Canada.

“In Bafoussam we have seen what the gospel does, and we who have received so much through the gospel realized how important it was that what has helped us can reach many others The friends were eager to participate,” said Claude from Bafoussam in Cameroon.
