For more than 15 years, BCC has worked to strengthen its finances, and the Assembly of Representatives’ meeting began with a review of the overall financial situation.
“Results from 2024 and the first quarter of 2025 show that we are following our plans, and we are better equipped than ever,” said Tore Aslaksen.

Financial frameworks for local churches – a common approach
One of several important tools for carrying out Jesus’ Great Commission is to have sound finances. The frameworks now adopted by the Assembly of Representatives affect local churches all over the world, and will help them to have good financial management. This in turn gives us the freedom to think long-term and act with vision, so that we leave assets, rather than debt, to the next generation.
By 2027, all local churches must prepare a plan for their finances for the next five years, or 30 years if they want to make major investments. The donation model is the mainstay of the local economy and it cannot exceed 10%.
A-team in local construction projects
As part of the financial frameworks, it was decided that local churches that have building plans should offer work to the A-team participants in their projects. In this way, the local churches help to find suitable jobs for the young people who participate in A-team.
The donation model
From 2026, the contribution to central costs from the local churches to the BCC Federation will be reduced. This means that the local churches pay half a percent less to BCC’s central operations. It is up to the Annual General Meeting of the local churches to adopt a local budget.
Model provisions for membership
Over time, work has been done to define what membership in BCC should entail. An important part of the process is the resolution that was made on model provisions that provide frameworks for personal membership. Each country must ensure that membership provisions are in line with applicable laws and regulations.
