The foyer at Årvoll Conference Center is teeming with excited faces and musicians carrying instruments. A young lady has just arrived from the Netherlands and is looking for the harp which has been hired for her to play.
The participants come from nine countries in Europe. They are all volunteers and pay for their own travel. They arrive well prepared, having memorized the parts and English lyrics for six songs from the songbook Ways of the Lord.

“Seeing the enthusiasm of all the friends and musicians who want to share the message of these songs is a very beautiful and edifying experience,” says Mary-Lee Jacquier from France.
She is a professional singer, but this weekend she is volunteering as a soloist for one of the songs.

Kick-off that sets the goal
Friday evening is the kick-off, and Eva and Kåre Smith arrive straight from the USA. Smith has a clear message for musicians and singers:
“What we want to convey with our songs is purity and power. There has to be something that stands out in the music we make, so that it awakens something in those who have a heavenly calling.”
Smith’s guidance is well received. Several of BCC Music’s employees follow up with their personal stories about how they have worked to prepare the arrangements, and this makes a strong impression:
“The highlight of the weekend for me was the kick-off meeting we had, where we got to hear testimonies from those who work with the music on a daily basis. That we must always be humble and have a pure spirit to be able to use our gifts to bless and not to receive honor ourselves,” says Mary-Lee.
A unique atmosphere
The atmosphere, where 200 talented people share a common desire to honor God, is unique.
“It’s good to be here,” one of the participants concludes. “As a tangible experience of what millions of Christians pray for every day in the Lord’s Prayer – that it is God who should get the glory.”
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
