Annette, from Switzerland, has a background in elementary school teaching and was a volunteer worker at the local Sunday school since she was 16. She is now coordinator for the children’s ministry in BCC and is part of a team of seven whose job is to create content for children, as it is a top priority that children develop a healthy faith and a solid understanding of the gospel. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“What motivates me most is the knowledge that the work we do can have a lasting impact on the children\u2019s future. Being able to help lay a foundation for faith early in life is a huge responsibility, but also a great privilege,” says Annette. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is clear about what has been the most important aspect of her work with children in 2025: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“To share God\u2019s word in a way that is understandable, relevant, and engaging for the children.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, she mentions two specific projects\u2014the musical about Noah and the local Bible Kids Days: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s heartwarming to see entire congregations coming together to create a wonderful atmosphere for Bible Kids Day.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This spring, the theme was the Easter story, while last fall\u2019s Bible Kids Day focused on the theme of the kingdom of heaven. Both gatherings combined teaching, film, music, and activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bible stories for children <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Children respond strongly to Bible stories when they are told in an engaging way. We develop tools and resources so that children don\u2019t just hear Bible stories, but experience them and can relate to them.” <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

These resources are used both at conferences and in local Sunday schools. The stories should remain faithful to the Bible\u2019s message, while being told in a way that children can relate to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In an age of countless impressions and voices, it is essential that children encounter a clear message of love and hope. We want to give children a solid foundation on which to develop a personal faith in God and in Jesus as their Savior.” <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Collaborating with volunteer Sunday school teachers <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the materials produced by Annette and her team are of high quality, the children\u2019s experience hinges on the volunteers: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We maintain close communication regarding information, planning, and the provision of resources for central and local meetings,” explains Annette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything they produce is evaluated, and the feedback from the volunteers is invaluable for helping to hit the mark and get the most out of the resources invested in this work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is a great pleasure to work with dedicated volunteers and staff who are passionate about the same cause\u2014this driving force is the strength behind all our work with children.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
