Gershon Twilley welcomed everyone and described the A-team as a place for growth\u2014a \u201cworkshop\u201d where they can undergo a heavenly transformation. A place where participants will get the opportunity for both personal and spiritual growth.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The young people were given detailed information about what to expect.\u00a0Emphasis was placed on loving one another as spiritual siblings, but with a call to make personal choices:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cListen to your own heart to know what is right,\u201d Gershon urged, encouraging the young people to keep to God\u2019s word, which leads to a good life.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is what you learn at A-team\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of the things you learn at A-team<\/a> is to take responsibility for your own life, develop a strong work ethic, and gain a sound understanding of the Gospel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal is for participants to return home as confident and compassionate individuals who genuinely care for others.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe see that many of those who have participated in the A-Team have been equipped to serve as workers in the church,\u201d says Elena Kern H\u00e5ndlykken, who has been involved with the program for several years.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Success factor:\u00a0Clear guidelines\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To ensure that young Christians can live and work together and that everyone can thrive in a safe environment, the leadership of the A-Team program has found that having clear guidelines works well:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe find that many people feel reassured by our zero-tolerance policy toward alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, for example,\u201d says Emil Larsen\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cParticipants understand this when they sign up, and that is one of the reasons why it provides a healthy environment for growing in faith.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expectations\u00a0\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Some of the members of this year\u2019s A-team took to the stage, where they shared what it\u2019s actually like to be part of the A-team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt first, I focused on what the place had to offer me\u2014what activities were available, and whether there were many young people there. I simply compared it to other places. That\u2019s probably what you naturally look for first. But I realized pretty quickly that the real value isn\u2019t in the place or the people around you, but in the personal growth you see in yourself,\u201d says 20-year-old Niklas.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone who joined the A team this season received a welcome gift package.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Vendela, an 18-year-old from Stavanger, is one of the eager newcomers who will be starting after the summer holidays:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat I’m looking forward to most is making new friends and meeting new people who share my passion for living a life fully dedicated to God! I also think it’s exciting to be in a new city and take on a job I’ve never done before; it’ll be fun to see what the future holds.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
