So far, the weeks have been characterized by reading chapters from the Gospel of John and articles by Johan O. Smith in Hidden Treasures, as well as listening to podcasts and answering quiz questions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the purpose of this?\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During the time leading up to Easter, the participants will have reviewed all of John’s literature (except Revelation) and gained insight into the apostle John’s preaching of the gospel.\u00a0Published as an imaginary conversation between John and Polycarp, the four animated films cover the entire “course” of a Christian, from conversion to sanctification and eternal inheritance.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As with previous Bible study projects, youth groups from around the world compete against each other. This was in 2024 in Poland.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This is what local involvement looks like\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The bible study project “Ladder to Heaven” is now in full swing. This week, activity increases even more. In the time ahead, youth groups around the world will meet in the friends’ homes to watch themed movies, solve puzzles and talk about what we learn through this Bible study. This will take place at least once more before Easter.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the young people get to experience two “gamenights” together with the young people in their local church. There are youth meetings where the topics are highlighted through films, tasks and competitions, which will contribute to greater understanding and enthusiasm.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concludes with the premiere of themed film at Easter\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The project concludes at Easter, when a new theme film from Hidden Treasures “Escaping Esau” will have its premier.\u00a0Young people going to Easter camp get to see it there, while all members over youth age get to see it during the Easter conference.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why is the project called “Ladder to Heaven”?\u00a0<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It points to the ladder Jacob saw in a dream (Genesis 28:10-12), which Jesus also mentions in John 1:51: “And he said to him: Most assuredly, I say to you: Hereafter you shall see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aksel J. Smith also uses this image in song nr. 321 in <\/a>The<\/a> ways of<\/a>the Lord<\/a>: “A Jacob’s ladder to heaven goes; The rungs are laws God upon us bestows. O let us all up this ladder run, for there at the top is God\u00b4s own dear Son.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
